About This Spot

El Patron Grill Cantina invites you into a space where lively energy and genuine warmth meet the flavors of Mexico. Nestled along US-301 in Riverview, this spot carries the easygoing vibe of a neighborhood cantina—where conversation flows freely and time slows down enough to savor each bite and sip.

Stepping inside, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that feels both vibrant and unpretentious. The decor hints at festive evenings without overwhelming the senses, making it just as welcome for a relaxed weekday meal as it is for a weekend gathering. Friendly faces at the table and behind the bar set the tone, creating a kind of familiar welcome that encourages you to settle in and savor the moment.

The menu reads like a heartfelt nod to the rich diversity of Mexican cuisine, with dishes that balance traditional roots and thoughtful modern touches. It’s the kind of place where the fragrant spices in the sizzling fajitas and the fresh zing in the street tacos awaken your palate, while refreshing concoctions like the cucumber cilantro margarita or a virgin piña colada offer a memorable contrast. Portions are generous, meant for sharing stories as much as satisfying hunger.

What sets El Patron apart isn’t just the food on the plate, but the human moments woven throughout the experience—the attentive servers who guide you through the menu with genuine care, the clink of glasses among friends, and the subtle details that make it feel like your own local spot soon after the first visit.

Whether you arrive craving the comforting embrace of a warm mole or the casual delight of nachos shared over laughter, El Patron Grill Cantina offers a refuge where the joy of Mexican flavors is expressed as much in hospitality as in each carefully crafted dish.

Just moved to the area and decided to try. Honestly, fantastic experience. Bryan was so attentive and kind. Food was delicious, drinks strong and beautiful decorated. Great portion sizes. My husband had the burrito fajita & I had the arroz with chicken & shrimp. 10/10! Will be back. Definitely recommend to anyone considering!

Had some really good authentic Mexican food. Service was very nice. Had a lovely young waitress, attentive, and help us make some really good choices. The food was very flavorful. Cheese dip was very good. I had the burrito steak burrito. I would come back actually to get this meal again the chicken dinner was very good. Lots of spices nothing overpowering I would give this a nice five star rating.

What a treat! The restaurant from the outside looks like it might be more bar than grill, but that is further from the truth. The food is very authentic, mouth watering and the staff are extremely welcoming. The cucumber cilantro margarita is a spectacular drink and very refreshing surprise. Brian is a master mixologist! My son and I tried it for the first time today, but we will be returning. Support this local friendly business! You won’t be sorry you came.

I cannot recommend this place enough. From the gooey queso, to the velvety beans... the food is phenomenal. Highly recommend the virgin Pina colada, special chicken Chimichunga meal too!
